From Blockchain to crypto-currencies: Big Bang or Black Hole?

2018 04 aci

On March 26th, the ACI (Association of International Coin Operators) organized a conference on this hot topic, moderated by the financial news agency Thomson Reuters.

More than 150 people, professionals and neophytes, attended the rendezvous, very attentive to the different themes:

  • Understand the opportunities offered by Blockchain's new technologies, its potential applications and the mutations generated in the financial world.
  • Presentation of Bitcoin, the most representative example of crypto-currency: "value" and potential role of disruptive means of exchange.
  • ICO's (or "Initial Coin Offering"): emphasis on the need for preparatory work on the roadmap to avoid the pitfalls of poorly evaluated fundraising.
  • The ecological and regulatory aspects, with the particular attention paid by the various financial market supervisory bodies and state and supranational organizations to the functioning of these still embryonic mechanisms.
  • Reflections on development potentials and evolution of the public blockchain towards a more private use.

A question and answer session concluded the event.
