Co-founder of Alkimia Capital, Georgia Pont Garcia divides her time between Andorra and Monaco, where she plays a key role in the strategy and compliance of the asset management company. She explains her vision of investment, future trends and the importance of rigorous capital management.
How long has Alkimia Capital been in existence and what is its history in Monaco?
Alkimia Capital was founded in 2014 in the Principality of Andorra, where we started our activities as an asset management company. In 2021, we began the process of obtaining a license in Monaco. In 2023, we officially obtained our license and have been actively operating in the Monegasque financial center ever since. Monaco is a strategic, internationally recognized financial center, and establishing a presence there was a natural evolution for our development.
What is your role at Alkimia Capital?
I have several roles within Alkimia Capital. I am very involved in compliance, which is a key issue in Monaco, guaranteeing absolute transparency and rigor in our management. But I also take care of the company's development, particularly through our presence on the international scene. I participate in conferences and economic forums to identify investment opportunities and create synergies with other players in the financial sector.
What is Alkimia Capital's vision of asset management?
Our philosophy is based above all on independence. Our investment decisions are made exclusively in the interest of our clients. The majority of our investors are entrepreneurs who have built their wealth through hard work and who take a rational and considered approach to financial investment. Our role is to preserve their capital and ensure the long-term transmission of their assets, steering clear of overly risky or speculative strategies.
What types of investments do you favor?
We mainly invest in investment funds, which allow us to adapt strategies to the profiles of each client. Some are more conservative and seek security above all, while others accept a measured risk-taking to maximize their return. But our approach remains fundamentally focused on the stability and protection of wealth in the long term.
Do geopolitical developments influence your investment decisions?
We make a clear distinction between politics and the economy. Of course, we closely follow geopolitical and macroeconomic developments, as they can have an impact on the financial markets. But our experience has taught us that the economy often follows its own dynamic, independently of political cycles. Our approach consists of investing in safe values and resilient sectors, which are more resistant to global turbulence.
Which investment sectors are most promising for 2025?
We favor several sectors that offer long-term stability. Consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and industry, for example, remain a safe bet, as there is constant demand for these products, regardless of the economic climate. Gold has also had an exceptional year and remains an essential safe haven. We are also actively exploring opportunities in Asia and the Middle East, fast-growing markets that are often underestimated by Western investors.
How do you identify the best investment opportunities?
It is a constant monitoring and analysis job carried out by our team. We conduct in-depth market research and attend numerous international conferences to meet local experts and identify emerging trends. We regularly travel to the Emirates, Asia and Europe to refine our strategies and find opportunities in line with our investment philosophy.
Why did you choose Monaco to develop Alkimia Capital?
Monaco is a prestigious and internationally recognized financial center, offering a stable and secure regulatory framework. Many clients already had financial interests in the Principality, which facilitated our transition. For us, it was natural to set up here and benefit from the dynamism of the Monegasque financial center.
What are your impressions of the Principality since you settled here?
Monaco has impressed me with its efforts to strengthen transparency and financial regulation. In recent years, there has been a real drive to achieve compliance, which reinforces the confidence and credibility of the Monegasque financial center. This commitment to transparency is a very positive signal for investors and a guarantee of security for our clients.
