Monaco Telecom: connecting the Principality to the world

Since the practice of finance work usually requires perfect responsiveness, professionals expect guarantees of efficiency from telecom operators. This is the case in Monaco and elsewhere.

Monaco’s incumbent operator is striving to be up to its customers’ needs. A recently signed partnership agreement with global operator Level 3 will allow Monaco Telecom to meet Monegasque businesses’ growing demand for more reliable and secure connectivity to the capitals of Europe, America and Asia. Locally, Monaco Telecom ‘business’ customers will be able to use the new network to interconnect all their sites within the Principality and/or throughout the world. From the speed perspective the available offerings range from 2 Mb/s to 10 Mb/s, thus allowing Monaco Telecom customers to enjoy very high service quality.

EIG cable in addition

“This is the best service quality available, equivalent to what the leading or second local operator in the covered areas can offer,” explains Jean-Philippe Alfonsi, Monaco Telecom Sales and Marketing Director. To cover other areas the Level 3 infrastructures will be connected to the EIG cable: this submarine route connects Europe to India via the Middle East, also offering East Africa internet access. Commercial contacts and technical study included, Monaco Telecom estimates the maximum leadtime necessary for the provision of internet connectivity to its business customers at around twenty days. And the process is even faster if the building of the firm concerned is already connected with fibre optics. The Monaco operator also provides business solutions for  customers seeking secure hosting of their sensitive data – hosting which is physically systematically carried out on Monegasque soil. This is a real potential plus for the financial centre’s banks and asset management companies that are keen to grow and respond quickly and effectively to increasingly sophisticated expectations.
