New DEES banking graduates

2013-11 DEES-Banque

The initiative dates back to 2007. Its partners - the Monaco Department of Employment, the Monegasque Financial Activities Association, and the Institut Bancaire de Formation (IBF) in Nice – created the first vocational sandwich course diploma specific to the Principality – a Bac+2 (baccalaureate + 2 years) equivalent. While the 8th class was just starting the new term, on 18 September a graduation ceremony was held for the students of the 2012/2013 class. Nine out of a total of ten students have validated their course: they are led to follow the career path started by their predecessors, 80% of whom found their first job in Monaco. The evening of 18 September was also marked by the presence of a Chinese university delegation accompanied by Mr. Pu Guoquan, vice-chancellor of Tianfu University in the city of Chengdu. A first class of 25 students from this university have in fact followed the same course, therefore in particular attending lectures given by Monaco bankers. The Monegasque financial centre is not seeking Chinese employees yet. Having graduated, 17 of the young people trained via the Monaco DEES consequently have the vocation for enabling the development of private banks in China.
