Eric Chasson, new Group Director at Société Marseillaise de Crédit Monaco

2014-10 Eric-Chasson

In early July 2014, Eric Chasson took over from Olivier Delaporte at the head of SMC Monaco. He has responsibility for 3 branches, plus a team dedicated to the business market, thirty staff and over 6000 customers.

His ambition is clear – to develop excellence in relations, the cornerstone of S.M.C.’s influence. “We have been in Monaco since 1916, and we support our customers over the long term. As a local bank, we provide our customer base of private individuals, professionals, retail traders, SMEs and companies, with all the products they need on a day-to-day basis: from inheritance to asset management and on to discretionary management; from documentary credit to electronic money and particularly FINTRAX (software that allows card purchases to be paid for in the currency of a country outside the eurozone, providing a significant reduction in collection costs for our customers); and from counter banking to the most innovative Internet products: dedicated apps for IPads, IPhones, Webex etc. Finally, credit remains a major area in our customer support policy.”

Eric Chasson’s career has been an interesting and varied one: Mid Cap officer at Crédit Agricole, in 2001 he held an audit senior post in the General Inspectorate of the HSBC Group. In 2005, he joined General Electric as Audit Deputy Manager and was then named Commitments Manager. In 2010, he joined the Crédit du Nord Group as Credit Back Office Director in Société Marseillaise de Crédit.

He then became Director of Quality and Customer Relations before taking charge of S.M.C Monaco. “My governing principle is customer satisfaction, whether in its commercial, organisational or communications dimension.” In 2015, S.M.C. will celebrate its 150th anniversary, and that will provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships.
