The Banque de France has appointed its new Departmental Director of Nice, Mr Didier Collet who will take office by the end of May 2015 and will succeed Mr Marc Lanteri, promoted to Regional Director in Caen, lower Normandy.

On 23 April, Mr Xavier de Sarrau, Managing Partner of Gordon S Blair, and Mr Gilbert Delacour, Gordon S Blair Monaco's CEO-Partner, launched “Les Rendez-vous”. These are business breakfasts run by Gordon S Blair Monaco where law and taxation professionals can exchange views and expertise. These debates will be a regular event, with a limited number of participants, in order to facilitate communication. For the first one on Tuesday 23 June, the subject will be “The Protection of Assets and Inheritance Planning, Using Trusts and Similar Legal Entities”.

After holding the position of Director of the Office of Monaco Stamps Emissions - OETP - Mrs Magali Vercesi has been appointed General Secretary of the CCAF, under the chairmanship of Jacques-Henri David. So she succeeds Guy-Michel CROZET having asserted his pension rights.

From 22 to 24 April, the Principality hosted the 13th International Forum of the CIFA, Convention of Independent Financial Advisors. This non-governmental organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, brought together its members around a core theme: "Public debt, budget deficits, unbridled Tax, who will pay? ".

At the official opening ceremony, Mr Jean Castellini, Government Counsellor for Finance and Economic Affairs in the Principality, delivered a speech. Hervé Ordioni, CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Monaco and President of the Commission for the Promotion of the Marketplace in the Monegasque Association of Financial Activities, has meanwhile presented the financial center. "

After a first meeting in 2007, the AMAF was pleased to welcome again a delegation from the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Ivory Coast.

Marie-Pascale BOISSON, Director of SICCFIN, wished that her counterparts, on the occasion of their study visit to Monaco, could measure the importance of the involvement of the Place professionals in the right implementation of the legal framework in the Principality.

A very fruitful exchange has been established on April 24, 2015, between the National Financial Information Processing Unit of the Ivory Coast - CENTIF - represented by its President, Mr Idrissa TOURE, accompanied by the Head of Legal and International Affairs Department, Romain OUATTARA, as well as the head of the Analysis pole, Stéphanie De SOUZA, and a delegation of the Monegasque Association of Financial Activities - AMAF.

After this meeting, our representatives particularly emphasized the common will of the place’s actors to fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, in close collaboration with the Monegasque authorities.

Since March 23, 2015, Sophie Despas-Vatrican succeeded Isabelle ROSABRUNETTO at the head of the Department of Budget and Treasury. She is responsible for:

  • Budgeting and accounts of the Constitutional Reserve Fund
  • The responsibility of the treasury and accounting transactions carried out by the General Treasury of Finance
  • Ensuring the supervision of the Principality credit institutions within the framework of agreements with the European Union and France
  • The issue of coins
  • Establishing salaries and managing pensions of the civil servants
  • Examining some loan applications
  • Ensuring the Secretariat of the Commission for Funds Investment

Isabelle ROSABRUNETTO has been appointed General Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

Last April 9, Mr Jean-Luc Delcroix, head of La Banque Postale Monaco Branch, invited his customers to a Wealth Evening, a panel discussion with the central theme "The Role of Real Estate Investment in wealth management".

Many experts examined all aspects of real estate investment, physical or paper. Among them Rachid Medjaoui, of the Banque Postale Private Management, and Anne-France Gauthier of Tocqueville Finance.

As part of its local commitment, Barclays is working in partnership with the International University of Monaco (IUM) to inspire, support and prepare "Next Generation".
