Following the example of  the Financial Director of the year Trophy award attributed by the DFCG at the national level for 14 years, and as in 10 other regions the Association des Directeurs Financiers et de Contrôle de Gestion de la Côte d’Azur (DFCG - Association of Financial and Management Control Directors of the Côte d’Azur)  is organizing the 4th edition of its Financial Management Trophy.

To maintain the quality and safety of euro banknotes, the European Central Bank and the National Central Banks of the Eurosystem started to introduce a second series of euro banknotes on May 2, 2013 (5 euro). In continuation, the Eurosystem has announced the launch of the  new 10 euro banknotes for September 23, 2014.

The new banknotes will notably increase their guard against counterfeiting, making cuts in euros even safer. They will incorporate enhanced security features, using the latest technological advances in the field.

Last March 20, Etienne Franzi, President of Monaco Telecom and Jean-Luc Vuillemin, Technical Director for Orange France Networks and Services announced the 4G network territorial continuity between France and the Principality of Monaco. Orange customers can benefit from the Monaco Telecom 4G network when they are in the Principality of Monaco. And this at no extra cost.

Following the success of the two previous events, the 3rd Forum on Sandwich Courses will be held on 19 February 2014 at the Rainier III Auditorium.

Intended for students of all levels, aged 16 – 26, this forum will give them the opportunity to meet sandwich course regional specialists and Monaco businesses interested in the scheme. An area will be specifically dedicated to finance and the European Diploma in Higher Banking Studies, Monaco banking centre specialisation (Bac+3), established by the Employment Office in collaboration with AMAF (Monaco Association of Financial Activities) and the financial centre’s banking partners. Students will be able to obtain an application form and apply for a place on the course next academic year, at the forum.

Last Tuesday, COFACE presented its traditional conference on country risk. Mr Julien Marcilly, "Head of Country Risk", summarized, in front of an audience of leaders invited by the CDE, Banque Populaire Côte d'Azur and Gramaglia Insurance companies, the contents of the new edition of the Country Risk Guide. The year 2014 should be marked by a difficult renewal with, in Europe, a kind of laborious crisis, dynamic businesses and household debt reorganized in the United States, and finally, a slower pace of growth in emerging countries.

The financial magazine financier Euromoney has awarded the title Best Local Private Bank in Monaco 2014 to  Compagnie Monégasque de Banque.

Mr FRANZI was reelected as Chairman. A new Vice President of Social Affairs, Dominique GUIGNARD - BPCA - was designated as two new Councillors, the CEO of Société Générale, Thierry GARDE and the Delegate Administrator of the Compagnie de Gestion Privée, Sergio BINDI, replacing Messrs. Paul-Marie JACQUES and Gianni ROMANO. These were thanked by the Chairman for their significant contribution to the work of the Association.

The World Policy Conference (WPC) is an independent organization created in 2008, aiming to help improve governance in all its aspects. The annual conference of the WPC will gather in the Principality high-level personalities from the 5 continents: political and economic leaders, representatives of civil society, researchers and journalists. The goal: to reflect, discuss and propose constructive solutions to major regional and international issues in a spirit of tolerance.
